Principal's Welcome

On behalf of the staff of Wentworth Point Public School, I welcome you to our school community. As Principal, my vision is to collaborate and continue to build positive partnerships with students, staff and the community and drive the school motto of ‘Growing our children for the future.’

Students are at the centre of my decision making, and I will advocate for all to Connect, Thrive and Succeed through continuous improvement in teaching and learning and ensuring the wellbeing needs of all students are met. I am committed to the NSW Department of Education goal of ensuring every student, every teacher, every leader and every school improves every year.

Our school values represent who we are and what we believe in:

- I care for myself
- I care for others
- I care for the environment

The school opened in 2018 and currently has an enrolment of over 600 students. The Wentworth Point community is culturally and linguistically diverse. Over 88% of students have a language background other than English. The school buildings are contemporary, modern, flexible and designed to prepare and support our students in their growth and development as lifelong learners through authentic collaboration.

Our school acknowledges the Wangal people of the Eora nation, who are the traditional custodians of the land along the southern shore of the Paramatta River. I am an educator who leads an inclusive curriculum that recognises and embraces the multicultural nature of Australia’s first nation people. I support inclusion and the importance of collaborating with students, families and carers within the wider school community.

Our 2021 to 2025 Strategic Improvement Plan has three directions that were informed by a thorough situational analysis. Our plan is a working document that details the steps we will take to improve the learning outcomes and the achievement and growth of all students at Wentworth Point Public School.

Strategic Direction 1- Student growth and attainment in literacy and numeracy.

Strategic Direction 2- High impact teaching strategies through effective feedback and professional collaboration.

Strategic Direction 3- Fostering student agency and wellbeing through the development of personal, social and physical capabilities.

Our commitment at Wentworth Point Public School is to develop the whole child. To create optimal opportunities for learners, our focus is to increase every student’s sense of belonging and advocacy at school to meet the educational, social and emotional needs.

I look forward to building positive partnerships based on mutual trust, respect and a shared responsibility for the education of all students to reach their personal best.

Kind regards,
Jayne Muir
