Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events and competitions.
Gimbawali Festival
Our talented Dance Troupe proudly represents Wentworth Point Public School as part of the Gimbawali Festival, a celebration of culture, creativity and community. Performing alongside schools from across several networks our students showcase their hard work, dedication and love of dance on stage. Being part of the Gimbawali Festival gives our dancers the chance to shine, share their skills with a wider audience and celebrate the joy of performing together - on one of the grandest stages of them all - The Sydney Opera House.
Excursions
Our students love getting out of the classroom to explore, discover and try new things. Excursions provide first-hand, real-world experiences that bring learning to life. Each excursion is carefully linked to the curriculum, helping students build confidence, deepen their understanding, and see how their learning connects meaningfully to the world around them.
PSSA
At Wentworth Point Public School, we are proud to be part of the Primary School Sports Association (PSSA). Our students represent the school across a wide range of sports including soccer, AFL, touch football, netball and many more. Each week, our dedicated teachers take on the role of coaches - running training sessions to build skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. On Fridays during both the winter and summer seasons, our teams compete against other schools, giving students the opportunity to challenge themselves, enjoy healthy competition and proudly represent WPPS.
Playground Clubs
At Wentworth Point Public School, our Playground Clubs give students a chance to explore their interests, build friendships, and try new activities during break times. From art and games to sports and quiet clubs, these spaces provide something for everyone. The purpose of Playground Clubs is to create safe, inclusive, and engaging opportunities for students to connect with peers, develop new skills, and enjoy their play breaks in ways that suit their personalities and passions.
