Why is the intake area adjustment taking place?
As communities grow and change the NSW Department of Education reviews intake areas to ensure they continue to meet the needs of the local community.
The Wentworth Point Public School population is close to capacity. The Victoria Avenue Public School is well positioned to welcome more students.
When will the change take place?
The intake area adjustment for Wentworth Point Public School and Victoria Avenue Public School will take effect for all year groups from Term 1 2021.
What if I have already enrolled my child in Kindergarten at Wentworth Point Public School for 2021 and I am now in the Victoria Avenue Public School intake area?
If you live within the area affected by the change, and have enrolled a student during the 2020 academic year in Kindergarten at Wentworth Point Public School for 2021, you will be able to maintain this place. Or, if you prefer, you can enrol at your newly designated school, Victoria Avenue Public School.
I have a child already attending Wentworth Point Public School. Can they stay there even if I am now in the Victoria Avenue Public School intake area?
Yes they can. If you live outside the defined intake area for Wentworth Point Public School and already have a child attending there you will also be able to enrol siblings together at Wentworth Point Public School for the next three years (2021 – 2024).
